I am a Nashville native with fifteen years of experience in social services and therapeutic settings. In 2017, I made a job transition and decided to open my private practice to continue doing the clinical work I love. In August 2019, I moved into two different spaces to expand my availability and accessibility. I love working with my clients to achieve their goals and become the best version of themselves. I believe in making therapy as accessible as possible, which is why I offer sliding scale fees to those who are unable to afford my full rate. To learn more about sliding scale, click here.
how i work
In addition to what many people think of as traditional talk therapy, I assign homework - skills to practice outside of session that ultimately help you reach your goals. We'll identify concrete actions you can take to make changes, and then follow up on your home practice to see what works for you and what might need to be adjusted. I typically practice from a behaviorist perspective, meaning that we work to change behaviors to improve your life. We will also spend time looking at the way your thoughts impact your behaviors and ways to change them. I practice from several modalities, and I typically incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) into most of my practice. I have found DBT to be especially effective and supportive of the changes my clients want to make.
I also utilize Brainspotting to help clients address trauma and overcome core beliefs that hold them back from being the person they want to be. There are many different ways to address these issues, but I have found Brainspotting to be extremely effective and also very efficient. Some forms of therapy take years to accomplish what can be achieved with Brainspotting. Where we look affects how we feel - and with Brainspotting, we can harness that power to overcome what’s been holding you back.
Generally speaking, I offer standing appointments to clients. This ensures you can plan ahead for appointments and never have to worry about forgetting to reschedule. I offer weekly or biweekly options based on your need and what you feel is reasonable for you (financially and emotionally) at the time.
who i work with
Most of my clients are struggling with anxiety, depression, perfectionism, trauma, major life transitions, and/or recovery from substance abuse. I have extensive experience working with members of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as those living with chronic medical conditions. I also often work with individuals recovering from traumatic or isolative religious upbringings and those who practice diverse lifestyles. I strive to provide an open and accepting setting for all my clients to ensure you are able to do the work you want to do. If there is anything I can do to help you be more comfortable, please always let me know.
I currently work out of two offices: one in Berry Hill and one in Inglewood (Pictures below). I am in Berry Hill Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. I am in Inglewood on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
